Conventional partner versus Comostasis.
Same destination. The difference is where the inventory comes from and who spends the hours.
| Conventional partner | Comostasis | |
|---|---|---|
| Services cost, small company (core financials) | $25,000 – $70,000 | $4,000 – $12,000 |
| Services cost, mid-size (sales, inventory, purchasing, some ISVs) | $70,000 – $150,000+ | $9,000 – $25,000 |
| Elapsed time, small | 2 – 3 months | 2 – 3 weeks |
| Elapsed time, mid-size | 3 – 6 months, 9+ for reimplementation | 3 – 5 weeks |
| Consulting effort | 150 – 1,200 hours | A fraction, mostly review and engineering |
| How customizations are found | Workshops, questionnaires, consultant memory | Read from the database and your files, with evidence |
| Interview | Broad, to cover the unknowns | Only gaps and contradictions, each saying why it is asked |
| How the proposal is priced | Consultant judgement plus a risk premium | Per-item effort model, itemised and visible |
| Traceability | Narrative document | Every count and price links to the facts behind it |
| Your team's time | Weeks across finance and IT | A few hours |
| Change control | Change orders when surprises appear | Surprises appear in the inventory, before the quote; a wrong assumption is a scoped change order |
Where the conventional numbers come from
Price ranges combine the one provider that publishes fixed fees for GP-to-BC packages (a $66,000 core-financials package and a $90,000 sales-and-operations package) with mid-market quotes we have collected. Durations are corroborated across several providers: two to three months for a direct migration, three to six for a hybrid with process change, six to nine for a reimplementation. Effort hours are an inference, since no provider publishes a breakdown.
Business Central licensing is separate from any migration fee and is between you and Microsoft or your reseller, roughly $70 to $100 per user per month.
Where our numbers come from
Comostasis figures are modelled at 10–20% of the conventional cost and duration for the same scope; they are a target, not a quote. The assessment is a base fee plus a per-item charge for larger estates, capped. The migration is quoted from the real inventory using a per-item effort model: the proposal shows the hours and rate behind every line and the assumptions it rests on, and marks the estimates that delivered work has calibrated.
See your migration cost before you commit to a partner.
