Know what is built on GP before anyone quotes the move.

Comostasis reads your Dynamics GP environment and inventories every customization, integration, report and ISV module on it, with the evidence for each. You get an assessment report and an itemised Business Central migration proposal, then a migration run from the same inventory, at a fraction of the cost of a conventional partner engagement.

Read-only access. Assessment fee capped up front. Itemised migration quote.

Illustrative engagement; prices are modelled. In a real assessment every line traces to evidence from your GP database and files.

GP is going away. The usual way to leave it has not changed since 2010.

Mainstream support for Dynamics GP ends and the migration market prices accordingly: partners quote $40,000 to $150,000 and three to nine months for a typical company, most of it consultant hours spent discovering what your system does.

Discovery is done in workshops. Customizations are found by asking people. Proposals are priced by judgement. The result is a long project with a wide risk band, and the parts nobody found until go-live.

Your GP database already knows what your system does. We start there.

Five steps, most of them performed by the AI FDE Agent.

  1. 1

    Connect, read-only

Provision a read-only SQL login to your GP server, or to a restored copy of it. Our connector refuses anything that is not a read, and credentials are encrypted and scoped to your engagement.

  2. 2

    Inventory everything

The AI FDE Agent catalogues custom tables, SQL objects, SQL Agent jobs, ISV modules, SmartLists and module usage straight from the database, plus the reports, VBA, modified forms and add-in source you share. Each item carries the evidence it was found in.

  3. 3

    Answer only what evidence cannot

Where the data is ambiguous or contradicts itself, you get a short, specific question explaining why it is being asked. Typically 15 to 30, never more than 35, answered in chat or a form at your own pace.

  4. 4

    Get an itemised proposal

Every item gets a disposition and a price. The report and proposal are generated from templates over the inventory, so every count and price traces back to the facts behind it.

  5. 5

    Migrate on the plan

Signed scope becomes verified tasks run under a supervising engineer: rebuilds, native configuration and staged data loads, each reconciled against GP before it counts as done.

What you receive.

Assessment report
Every customization, integration, report and ISV module in your environment, what it does, how much each area is used, and where we found it. Anything we could not attribute is listed, not dropped.
Migration proposal
A disposition and a price for each item, a total, a plan, and the assumptions it rests on. Every count and price traces to the facts behind it.
A portal for your team
Answer questions, track progress, sign off scope and download every document as a PDF, without a login to create.
The migration itself
Rebuilds, configuration and data loads run as verified tasks against the same inventory, with reconciliation results you can see before cutover.

Built for the people who sign off on this.

  • Read-only, twice over. Our GP connector refuses any statement that is not a read, and it connects through a login you create as read-only. Credentials are encrypted at rest with a key held outside the database.
  • Evidence for everything. Every fact records where it came from. Deliverables are templates over verified facts; no free-form model text reaches you.
  • Two models and an engineer. Every classification run is checked by a second model, and a supervising engineer approves what reaches you. Once a person has ruled on an item, a later run cannot quietly overturn it.
  • Your data stays yours. Tenant isolation enforced in the database, an audit log that cannot be edited, and erasure on request when the engagement ends.
Security and data handling

Questions people ask before they call.

Does anything touch our GP system?

No. We read through a login you provision as read-only, against your live server or a restored copy of it. Our connector also refuses any statement that is not a read, so nothing is written to GP. You own the login and can revoke it at any time, and we ask you to when the assessment ends.

What does the AI FDE Agent do?

The AI FDE Agent is software developed by Comostasis. It reads your database and the files you share, works out what every custom object does, and proposes a disposition for each one with its reasoning. Every classification run is checked by a second model. Low-confidence items go to an engineer or become a question for you. Reports are generated from templates over the verified inventory, not written freehand.

What happens to our customizations?

Each one gets one of four dispositions: replace with something Business Central does natively, rebuild as an extension, retire because nobody uses it, or defer. The proposal shows which, and why, per item.

Which GP versions do you support?

Dynamics GP 2015, GP 2016 and GP 18.x (2018 and the later 18.x releases), with any number of company databases.

What about payroll?

US GP Payroll has no Business Central equivalent. The assessment always asks about it and never proposes it as covered natively; it is planned as an external payroll service instead.

Is Comostasis a Microsoft partner?

We are an independent migration service. Licensing for Business Central is between you and Microsoft or your reseller. We are happy to work alongside your existing partner.

Can we get just the assessment?

Yes. The assessment stands on its own and the proposal is valid whether you migrate with us or with someone else.

How do you price it?

The assessment is a base fee plus a per-item charge for larger estates, with a cap, so you know the ceiling before we start. The migration is quoted from the inventory using a per-item effort model, so you can see what drives the number and what changes it. The proposal lists the answers it relies on; if one turns out to be wrong, the fix is a scoped change order, not a dispute.

See your migration cost before you commit to a partner.
